How can investigate a rise in cost per order (CPO)?

In order to find out a rise in CPO from the Summary trend, you need to first choose a date range where you want to investigate. Eg: choose the last 7-days from the date range filter and then plot CPO from the summary graph dropdown. In case the trend for the CPO line is continuously increasing, there is an issue.

What should you do next?

Check the trend for spends vs transactions. The CPO will increase in the following two cases –

  • If spends are the same and transactions are seeing a decline then look at the FAQ – How to investigate a drop in transactions.
  • The spends are gradually increasing but the transactions are not increasing in proportion. This is mostly a scale-up phase and hence a slight increase in CPO will take place.
