How can one investigate a drop in transactions?

In order to find out a drop in transactions from the Summary trend, you need to first choose a date range where you want to investigate for a drop. Eg: choose the last 7-days from the date range filter and then plot transactions from the summary graph dropdown. In case the trend for the transactions line is continuously decreasing, there is a drop.

What should you do next?

Start by investigating the bottom of the funnel – ad spends, impressions, visits & cart sessions. Plot each of these metrics and in case there is a proportional drop in any, then refer the FAQ for the respective metric.

If all the top of the funnel metrics are fine then it is clear that people are adding products to the cart but are unable to complete a transaction. To dismiss any payment gateway issue plot the organic transactions to check for a drop there.

Utilize the Device funnel report on the platform to see if the drop in cart session to a transaction is more on Desktop or Mobile.
